Frequently Asked Questions
Is the imagery in your work of a specific peak/place?
Probably the question I get asked the most, and the answer? Sometimes!
I love working with specific imagery on pieces that can speak to a certain peak or landscape, When I have an idea for a certain environmental feature in a project, I use it. Similarly, if a customer is interested in capturing a special place and having it depicted in a piece, I'm here for it.
Whenever possible, I feel a strong pull to actually visit a space that I want to use in my work, as engaging with a landscape directly is not only how that work is informed, but it is also how I fill my soul. Being present in a place gives me a sense of the textures, and the overall feeling of that place. It takes much more time and effort to engage with a place in the way that I like, but the experience yields a more informed, intimate result. That said, enough time spent in a specific area and one can begin to pick up on overarching themes - certain formations, textures, flora, atmosphere, etc. I end up doing this alot, especially when various things keep me closer to home and to my studio. This experience is what leads to me depict what I so often call the "mountains of my mind" - ie: imagined but informed by...
If there is interest in having a specific place depicted in a piece for you or a loved one, send me a message, and make sure to sign up for my newsletter. That way, you'll be among the first to know when I'll be open for custom work, or when I've got a special piece (or collection) ready to launch.
Where can I buy your work?
You can find my work in a few places! Shop online, at local markets and sales events, and by visiting and shopping at the various shops and galleries that carry my work.
Do you do custom pieces?
On occasion, I open my bench up for custom work. I will announce these opportunities first via newsletter, and then shortly after on my Instagram page and here on the shop. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to get the earliest notification.
Can you make me something that is "sold out"?
Short answer is that it depends.
Much of my work is reproducible, and "sold out" means I simply don't have a specific example made at the moment. Other times, for limited edition or One-Of-A-Kind (OOAK) pieces, the reference images are kept in place, even after selling, so that you can see specific examples of a certain design.
If you see something that is "sold out" and you're interested in having one made, look through the product description to see if there's a mention of which category it falls into, or as always, send me a message.
Sizing & Adjustments
Ring Sizing
The best way to determine your ring size is to visit a local jeweler who can help measure your finger(s). If visiting a local jeweler is not an option for you, there are numerous guides online to help you measure your finger or an existing ring.
Wider rings tend to fit/feel a bit tighter, so be sure to measure using a sizer of the appropriate width.
Many of the rings I create can be resized, but not all. Be sure to check the product description prior to purchasing - certain designs may prohibit resizing, and the product description will note as much.
Necklaces
Most of my necklaces will come either on a shorter chain (17" with clasp and 1" extender) or a longer chain (27" without a clasp), and chain details will be included with product descriptions.

What materials do you use in your work?
Materials
I use a range of metals and found materials in my work, including but not limited to...
- Brass, Sterling Silver, Fine Silver, 14k Gold, 18k Gold, Steel, Stainless Steel
- Natural stones and minerals found in various landscapes
- Wood and organic material found in various landscapes
- Gemstones of various sorts
When sourcing materials, stone, metal or otherwise, I do my best to ensure it's coming from a provider with responsible environmental and labor practices. As much as I can, I reuse, reclaim, repurpose, and re-imagine existing materials to further minimize the impact I have.
A Note on Finishes
Much of my work has a brushed/satin finish (regardless of material), and most of the sterling silver is intentionally oxidized (blackened).
Unless noted, I don't seal my pieces. People often ask this specifically when it comes to the brass pieces. I choose not to seal my brass, as the warm, soft glow of aged brass is incredible. The more a brass piece is worn, the faster this will occur.
One of the most beautiful things (in my opinion), is the development of signs on wear on pieces. The way that a piece changes the more that it is worn does nothing but add character, and goes towards making it your own. Appropriate care for you pieces allow for them to age gracefully.
How do I care for my CGD pieces?
Care
Some basic care instructions for your jewelry:
- Remove prior to swimming, bathing, or showering.
- Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, solvents, abrasives, or chemicals to clean your jewelry unless specifically recommended.
- Avoid exposing the jewelry to lotions and cleaning products. Many chemicals can leave stains in the materials that will require professional cleaning and restoration.
- Ensure necklaces clasps are closed/hooked securely, even when not wearing, as this will help prevent tangling.
- Ensure earnuts/retainers are securely installed, even when not wearing.

The Nature of Handcrafted Work...
Each of the pieces I make come from one studio and are made with one set of hands. Despite some work being produced in batches, each piece is inherently unique and will have signs of the various hand-making processes. These processes are important to me, as it is part of the story that is told when I am creating. Because of this, please understand that no two pieces will be exactly alike, even those from the same collection or design.
If an item you purchase arrives and you find an issue with the craftsmanship, please let me know so I can make it right.
Returns
I want my pieces to be with you for the long haul, and for that to happen, you need to be happy with them. Some pieces may be eligible for a return or exchange, but not all.
- Pieces created with significant input by you by way of the "Custom" process are not eligible for a return.
- Pieces that may have a small aspect modified at your request (examples: chain material, chain length, stone placement, etc.) may be returned at my discretion, and a modest restocking fee may apply.
- Work that comes from my regular collections that has not been modified or changed from its standard offering is able to be returned. Please see "Return Stipulations" below:
Return Stipulations
- Please contact me prior to sending anything for a repair, exchange, or return. Failure to do so means I will not accept the return.
- Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I recommend including insurance on your package for the full retail value of your purchase.
Shipping and Handling
- Please allow 2-5 days handling time, as I only make a postal run once per week.
- I tend to use USPS Priority Flat-Rate shipping, which typically falls into a 2-5 delivery window.
- If you need your purchase sooner, please send me a message prior to purchase, I most likely can accommodate. Expedited shipping via USPS or other carriers is available, so again, please contact me prior to placing your order so we can discuss options.
- International shipping is available through various carriers. If this applies to you, please message me prior to placing your order so we can discuss options. The full value and description of package contents will be listed on customs forms. Buyer is responsible for any fees related to customs, duty taxes, etc.
- For all items that ship, the package will include insurance for the full retail price. Items valued at $500 and above will also require signature confirmation, so be certain the address you are having the work shipped to has someone available to sign for it.
- Know that your item is not only well cared for while it is being created, but also while it is being packaged up in preparation for shipping out. Once a parcel leaves my hands, however, I am not responsible for items that are lost, damaged, or stolen while in transit.
